Test and Live

Keys decide the environment

sk_test_ keys only see Test objects and only use Test provider connections. sk_live_ keys only see Live objects. There is no flag to mix them.

What Test mode does

Test payments go to the OneGate Sandbox (simulated card and wallet payments with selectable outcomes) or to a provider's own test environment when you connect one. No real money moves. Webhooks, refunds and reconciliation behave exactly as in Live.

What Live requires

• A verified email address (to create Live keys).
• An approved business verification for your organisation.
• Live connections with your own provider credentials.
• A provider whose integration OneGate has certified. Providers still in certification show “Awaiting certification” and are not offered at checkout.
